NOTIFICATION

The qualified candidates (OC/BC/SC/ST) both boys & girls of EAMCET-2008
examination (Engineering & B.Pharmacy-MPC Stream) of AU / OU / SVU / NL areas
are informed to attend the counseling for admission into first year Engineering and
B.Pharmacy (MPC Stream) courses as per the schedules given below. Candidates should
produce all certificates in ORGINAL viz.
1) EAMCET-2008 Rank card an Hall ticket. (2)Intermediate Pass cum Memorandum
of Marks (3) Certificate indicating the Date of Birth (SSC or its equivalent) (4)
Study Certificates preceding 7 years of the qualifying examination i.e;
Intermediate or its equivalent in respect of candidates who have private study
without any institutionalized education, (6) Integrated Community certificates
issued by the competent authority and Father’s Caste Certificate of father or
mother for a period of 10 years in A.P. excluding the period of their employment
outside A.P. from M.R.O. in case of Non local candidates.
Fee Particulars: Tuition fee in University Engineering / Pharmacy colleges is Rs.10,000/-
P.a. and in un-aided Private Engineering / Pharmacy Colleges is Rs. 30,200/- p.a. An
extra tuition fee amount of Rs.3, 000/- p.a. will be collected over and above Rs.30,200/-
for such of the courses which are given accreditation by the NBA in any private un-aided
Engineering / Pharmacy colleges. Fee for double payment seats in University colleges is
for double payment seats in university colleges is Rs. 20,000/- and 60,400/- in private
colleges. In addition, OC / BC candidates will have to pay Rs.200/- towards \Registration
fee and Rs.500/- towards counseling fee. SC/ST candidates will have to pay rs.100/-
towards Registration fee and Rs.300/- towards counseling fee. SC/ST/BC and Muslim
Minority candidates are exempted from paying tuition fee in their parental income from
all sources is up to Rs.1, 00,000/- per annum. The income certificate issued by M.R.O
after 01-01-2008 will alone be accepted. In addition to the Income Certificate if the
parents are employee. Fee shall be remitted in the form of Demand Draft/Pay Order
drawn in favour of Convenor, EAMCET-2008 Admissions payable at Hyderabad or in
cash at the bank counters available in all venues. Fee shall be paid in full at the time
counseling and no part payment will be accepted.
Some of the Minority Colleges (Muslim / Christian) have opted to Convenor Window
(SW-1) for EAMCET-2008 admissions. As such the minority candidates attending for
this counseling can also exercise option for admission into their respective minority
colleges if they desire so.

1. CAT ‘All means OC/SC/ST/BC/Minority categories (Boys & Girls) to
consider them under OPEN category as well as their respective reservation
categories under G.O.Ms.550. Candidate of SC/ST/BC whose ranks
mentioned above, have to attend on the same day to take the seats earmarked
in the respective categories.
2. The allotted candidates need out come for counseling in subsequent phases as
they can give options for sliding into consequential vacancies arising out of
cancellations, additional intakes, new colleges and conversions from one
category to another, on Web from a designated help line centre or in
Internet café available at various places or Internet facility available from
their residence.
3. All candidates taken allotment in this phase will be supplied with a Scratch
Card containing password to enable him / her to exercise options for change
of allotment from the web.
4. Every candidate has to create an Email ID immediately and required to bring
the same at the time of attending the counseling for receiving the change of
allotment if any on Email.
5. BC-E candidates are informed that, the selection of the seat is made based on
the counseling, However, actual admission will be subject to the outcome of
final disposal of writ petitions pending if any, in Hon’ble supreme Count of
India and Hon’ble High Court of Andhra Pradesh.
6. The details of the seats available in various colleges will be notified at the
time of counseling and also on the internet at http://eamcet.dte.gov.in.
7. Physically Handicapped Candidates should bring the “PH” certificate issued
by the Director Medical Board. The “PH” claims will be verified by a panel of
Doctors in the Admission camp as nominated by the Authorities of Appellate
Hospitals.
8. The details of the seats available in various colleges and branches will be
notified in the time of counseling and also on the Internet at
http://eamcet.dte.gov.in from 16-07-2008.
9. Such of those candidates whose parents are of domicile of A.P. are alone
eligible to be considered under “CAP” category.
10. Fee-waiver scheme will be implemented as per rules in the colleges opted for
that scheme in both University & Private. Fee waiver will be granted as per
merit and rules in vogue in a college equal to the number of double payment
seats filled after completion of entire counseling process.
11. A notification will be issued shortly for counseling of SPORT category seats.
12. This notification itself is a call for counseling No separate call letters are sent
to the individual candidates. Candidates may have to stay a day extra if
necessary.

In the midst of all the results and admission news I thought of sharing this information from all of you and gather your opinion on the same.

There is some news from Bangalore that some incident took place in the morning and that has caused some disturbances in Bangalore city. This incident is related to religion so I am sure the issue and city will be very sensitive.

Earlier I though that this is some kind of a rumor but later on most of the TV channels and news sources started reporting - Udaya TV, TV9 Kannada, Times, CNN IBN, Aaj Tak and NDTV are covering this news.

There is some 144 section implemented in parts of Bangalore - JC Nagar area. I hope these will not lead into big Riots and the police and administration will do their best to return the city to normalcy.

Bangalore is the IT hub in India and mostly it has been free from Communal riots.

Osama bin Laden is dying?

Osama bin Laden is on his death bed! If the US Central Intelligence Agency is to be believed, the notorious international terrorist is suffering from terminal kidney disease.

A report released recently by the agency indicates at the possibility of the Osama surviving for not more six to nine months.

Today is July 4th, the day the USA celebrates Independence Day and the concept of socio-political freedom. Today’s post contains a prayer and the Declaration of Independence. My own political views about justice and freedom have appeared here and there on this blog, and your own views may differ from mine, but on this day I hope we can join hands and celebrate the value of socio-political freedom and commit ourselves to working for such freedom for all. And pray for peace in the world. (FYI: No gun comments today, please.)

“Love Story 2050″ Movie Review

Harman Baweja finally makes his much-awaited debut in a lavish 50 - 55 crore movie titled Love Story 2050! Directed by Harry Baweja, his father, of Qayamat fame (the Ajay Devgan movie that released in 2003). Since Qayamat, Harry has been busy working on Love Story 2050, his son’s mega debut. Priyanka Chopra is Harman’s co-star in the movie. Expectations are high, mostly due to the high-on-special-effects trailers and good promotion. Does it click?

Love Story 2050 starts off as a simple love story that revolves around two characters Karan (Harman Baweja) and Sana (Priyanka Chopra). Karan is a happy-go-lucky spirited boy who goes off the rules and Sana is a shy and petite young girl who goes by the rules. What happens when opposites meet? They are attracted, love blossoms between the two. All comes to a stand still when Sana dies in a accident!

In search of his love, Karan goes into the future, right into the year 2050 with the help of his scientist uncle Dr Ya (Boman Irani) who has spent more than 15 years of his life inventing the time machine. 2050 is spectacular, flying cars, sky-high multi storey buildings, robots et al. Karan finds Zeisha (Priyanka Chopra), now a superstar, a pop singer.

Will Karan and Sana get back again? Will the future bring them together?

Love Story 2050 Review

Harry Baweja has undoubtedly put in a lot of effort and hard work into Love Story 2050, whether its the costumes, settings, special effects and to a certain extent even robots. But unfortunately, the script is way below average. The story is nonsensical, the love story lacks soul, you dont feel for any single character in the movie. Harry Baweja as a story teller fails big time.

The first half is never ending, but towards the end it gets slightly interesting, you hope for a better second half. Imagining life 42 years from now is exciting, but what unfolds on the screen in the second half is probably equilvalent to a third degree torture. It painfully drags, the special effects although great, outshines the love story, you no more care for any of the characters. The robots and the special effects too starts to get monotonous towards the end. 30 mins into the second half, you desperately await the end for the credits to roll.. Yes, its that bad!

The runtime is 3 hours plus, most of the portions can be chopped off easily. For example the character of the masked villian, who appears in the latter parts of the second half, was absolutely unnecessary. He also seems to be a last minute inspiration of Naseeruddin Shah’s character in Krrish.

Seriously, its very hard to sit through this movie. The packed house for the preview show, was almost half empty, well before the credits rolled!

Dialogues are irritating.. Harman’s favorite dialogue in the movie is ‘I dont need luck, because i have love’ He repeats it so many times that, you feel an urgent need to pull every hair out of your head! Music is average, except for the ‘Milo Na Milo’ track, nothing is even worth a mention.

Performances are no better! Harman Baweja has been compared to Hrithik Roshan, no less! Well, he is good looking, a excellent dancer, has got a good screen presence.. But in the acting department, he has a long long way to go. His dialogue delivery outright sucks! Priyanka Chopra disappoints in a meaty role, with great scope for histrionics. Boman Irani is funny at times. Archana Puran Singh is good.

In short, Love Story 2050 is yet another major disappointment of 2008. A utter waste of Rs 50 crores plus spent on this never ending tale. The opening at the box-office is expected to be good, but the negative word-of-mouth would affect Harman’s debut. The collections should start dropping heavily from Monday. This futuristic tale has absolutely no future!

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na Movie Review

The common question comes to mind when aamir khan is producing a film will be, how the movie is going to be? Coming to jaane tu ya jaane na, will it live up to the expectations?

Story:

While Jaane Tu is Imran’s debut vehicle, it is really Genelia who steals the show. The actress is a real livewire on screen and conveys those annoying feelings of jealousy, confusion, irritability and fake happiness without any problem.

Within the gang, who sport very Bombay nicknames such as Rats (Jai), Meow (Aditi), Bombs (Sandhya), Jiggy (Jignesh), the guys fare much better than the girls. Jiggy delights as the Gujju while Rotlu and Bombs together are smashing as the couple who discover each other as soul mates when left solo by their crushes, Jai and Aditi.

Supporting cast members like Ratna Pathak Shah as Jai’s mum, Paresh Rawal as the police inspector, Naseeruddin Shah, as Jai’s dead Rajput father who speaks from his portrait hold, fort magnificently.

Even the sub-plot of Jai’s rite of passage as a true male Rathore from Ranjhore family by fulfilling three conditions - beating up a person, spending time in jail and riding a horse - is largely saved and made palatable by way of the safe casting of the Shahs and Arbaaz and Sohail Khan, who appear as Rathore boys in the guise of dancing cowboys.

On a whole jaane tu ya jaane na is a lovely cute movie honestly.
Its not a story which never heard or seen but then just like aamir said, It does revive good old college days and bring us a nice love story..
Viewers Review :

The film itself is a simple, young, urban, collegiate romantic comedy. And commentary on such movies should really boil down to, if it entertains you or not. This one does. Whether it works or not. For the most part, this does. There remains very little point intellectualising any further.

The premise is vintage stuff: basically whether the hero and heroine can merely be platonic friends. Or as they say in old Bollywood, Ladka aur ladki kabhi dost nahin ho sakte. You can see how the film is a wonderful attempt to subvert that age-old formula.

While this is about friends from, say Dil Chahta Hai or Kuch Kuch Hota Hai; everyone is not obnoxiously rich here. They don’t drive the fastest cars, or vacation in Holland or Switzerland.

This is still a mainstream youthful film. But everyone doesn’t bedazzle you with their beauty. They’re all attractive in their own ways, and they seem ‘people like us’.

Each friend represents a type. And yet, no one stoops down to stereotypes. They’re all characters with believable shades of grey.

There is the middle-class hero, Imraan, a non-violent son from what was once a violent royal family. He has a fun group of buddies from college.

One of them is the best-friend, that’s the spunky Genelia. They both share intense but casual chemistry.

Everyone including the parents assume them to be a couple. But their actual love for each other is revealed when the boy finds himself a girlfriend. And the girl is ready to settle down with her fiance. You know how all this will all end.

What keeps you glued then is the detailing in the writing: quirky sub-plots, witty lines and references, breezy situations and a general sense of joy.

Somewhere in the latter half of the film, what you miss though are certain magical moments that can lift all this material into another cinematic level altogether.

This is probably why when everything is brilliantly set up; you may come out of the interval with an ecstatic grin. You may not be that excited when the movie is over.

But you’re still in a good mood, and smiling alright. That’s a huge achievement for a Hindi film these days. I’d say, do check this one out.

Performances:
Coming to acting, every character has performed well enough.
Debutant Imran looks cool and acting is admirable.
I am not too much in favour of genelia but still she was good in the movie…
It’s a love story we all have seen earlier as well. But Abbas Tyrewala made it in such a way that movie looks fresh and touching.

Music: was as expected and well picturized. Thanks to Rehman. Imran would surely notch up a hit with this debut. The movie will surely have a decent opening.

Overall a sweet movie..
PS: The theatrical promo of rock on has shown arjun rampal starring with farhan akthar for the first time.

Union Bank of India

The Union Bank of India (UBI), one of the top public sector banks in India, has worked out ambitious plans to position itself as a major global player in the coming years, according to its Chairman and Managing Director M V Nair.

"We have already opened our representative offices in Shanghai and Abu Dhabi last year. We have applied for permission to open offices in ten more locations abroad, including in areas like Sydney and Canada," the Chairman told Khaleej Times here.

"We are also planning to diversify our operations, by floating subsidiaries. We have already launched a joint venture with Daichi Insurance of Japan to enter into the insurance sector. We are also working out an arrangement with a leading Belgium-based asset management firm to launch joint venture in the mutual funds sector," he said.

According to him UBI has launched several schemes to address the banking requirements of the Non-Resident Indians (NRI). "The remittance from the NRIs will now be transferred online to the accounts of the beneficiaries. We've introduced an SMS alert system to give feed backs to the NRIs on the delivery of their remittance to the beneficiaries back home in India. The beneficiaries will also get an SMS alert as soon as the remittances are transferred into their accounts."

"The beneficiaries can withdraw money from any of the 33,000-odd ATMs of different banks in India, and we don't charge them for using the ATM of another bank," M V Nair said.

The home loan applications from the NRIs will be processed within 48 hours, and the final sanction will be accorded within five days after submitting the documents. The education loan procedures for NRIs have also been simplified by the UBI. A ready kit comprising of ATM cards, pin number, log in password, multi-city check books will be given to the NRIs who are starting account with the UBI, the Chairman said.

Replying to questions he said all the 2500-odd branches of the bank had been computerised and had been brought under the Core Banking Solution system. "We have applied to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for permission to start 400 branches this year."

He said despite inflation Indian economy was likely to achieve substantial growth rate this year also. "Of course there will be some impact of inflation on the growth rate, and it may not reach nine per cent as was expected in the beginning. I expect the growth rate to be around 7.5 per cent to eight per cent this year, and still it will be a good rate compared to many other countries."

"The current inflation in India is not caused by internal factors but was driven by external factors like surging oil price. But the fundamentals of Indian economy are strong."
